St John’s Concert 2026

The St John’s Concert took place on the last weekend of term and marked a wonderful celebration of the musicians’ dedication throughout Lent term. Set in the beautiful and atmospheric St John’s in Newbury, the event brought the community together, relying on every voice to create a cohesive and moving performance.

The programme featured Mozart’s Overture to The Magic Flute, the 1st Movement of Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor with a stunning solo by Angelina S, Prima Voce’s Litanies à La Vierge Noire by Francis Poulenc, and Mozart’s Coronation Mass in C major. The afternoon was both inspiring and memorable, with a retiring collection dedicated to Christian Aid and serving as the final concert for our Upper Sixth musicians.

Mook (LV/Year 10) reflected,

It was incredible to come together as one big community, harmonising with everyone and relying on every voice. I left the concert feeling exhausted but completely fulfilled by the amazing atmosphere we had created.
