Upper Sixth Form girl, Holly took the brave decision to cut all her hair off to raise money for the young people’s mental health charity, YoungMinds and managed to raise over £5000 in the process. The girls in Willis House chose to support the charity, The Cure Parkinson’s Trust at this year’s Lower Sixth Charity Gala Dinner. The Great Gatsby themed evening raised over £6000 with a highly entertaining variety of acts including tap dancing, singing and comedy turns.Discover 11/06/19
Speech and Drama is hugely popular at Downe House with around three hundred girls electing to take group and solo lessons each year working towards appropriate Trinity College London awards in Speech and Drama, Musical Theatre and Communication Skills.Discover 06/06/19
Two girls at Downe House have been celebrating this term following the award of their DipABRSM, the next step beyond Grade 8 and the ARSM. Antonia, in the Upper Fifth, gained the qualification with the oboe and Georgia, in the Lower Sixth, by playing the violin, and both can now add the letters ‘DipABRSM’ after their names, an accolade which equates to the same standard as a first year undergraduate.Discover 05/06/19
