The company is now an award-winning communications agency trusted by the best brands in the world to deliver their campaigns. Sophie spoke about the world of PR, the intricacies of setting up her business, why she chose to live and work in the Middle East as well as entertaining the girls with tales of the highs and lows of running a hugely successful PR agency.
Sophie said, “Coming back to Downe House was an amazing experience and it was so fun being invited to share my entrepreneurial journey with the girls. As expected, I found the current generation of Downe House students to be super smart, on the ball and curious and I hope that they feel motivated to contribute and leave a mark on whatever career path they choose. Thank you for having me!”.
Sophie enjoyed supper in the Main Dining Room before being taken on a tour of the School by three Lower Sixth Form girls. A highlight of the tour was a visit to the recently refurbished Holcombe House of which Sophie was a member just over 20 years ago.
Lower Sixth Form girl, Madison said, “I found it very inspiring to hear how Sophie built up her own successful business and overcame the setbacks. Prior to the talk, I was very set on following one career path, but on hearing her advice I will research other careers including PR. It was interesting to learn about how a business is run and the different brands that her company works with.”
