DH Links

Our DH Links global alumnae and parent network provides invaluable careers-based knowledge, guidance and practical support to give girls a headstart and a guiding hand on their journey beyond Downe House.

At its heart, DH Links is an invaluable network of alumnae and parents

We offer Downe House girls support and guidance on career options through DH Links when they are at School and it is a network they can continue to access and contribute to far beyond their time with us, wherever in the world they are. Our alumnae community and close links with our parents enable DH Links to identify and develop work shadowing and internship opportunities as well as to run professional networking groups for girls, alumnae and parents across a range of professional sectors and interests.

DH Links  offers networking connections for the whole community and acts as a focal point for current pupils or alumnae across the globe who want to share or receive careers-based knowledge, guidance and information. Many Downe House parents also commit their personal and professional expertise, making the programme an enviable and invaluable resource.

Our thriving and active alumnae community

The support and involvement from our alumnae community is a source of great pride for the School. Whether it’s visiting to give talks and workshops that give our girls an insight into career pathways, jobs and business ventures, joining or hosting one of our professional networking groups, or facilitating work shadowing or internships, they are testament to the adage

Once a Downe House girl, always a Downe House girl

Developing internship and work shadowing opportunities

Working closely with our alumnae and parent networks, DH Links is able to develop opportunities and support girls and alumnae to make the most of work shadowing placements and internships both in the UK and globally.

Professional Networking

Throughout the year, DH Links professional cluster groups offer an opportunity for girls, alumnae and parents with similar professional interests to network, share ideas and make contacts.

Consider joining DH Links

DH Links can help current girls and alumnae build their networks and expand their opportunities. There are many different ways in which our alumnae support each other professionally; through attending networking events, one -to-one mentoring or internships.

Through the Foundation Office, DH Links is in contact with over 3,000 former Downe House girls who are located all over the world. DH Links is actively seeking alumnae and parents who would be willing to assist current girls of any age or alumnae with careers advice and guidance.

Become a Mentor

Alumnae and parents can offer a wide range of support, from advising others on a one-to-one mentoring basis, by offering work shadowing or internships, or by coming to talk at Downe House about their career path since leaving school.
