In our latest blog post, Mr Christopher Hill, Acting Assistant Head (Lower School) contributes his account of the Lower School Team Building day.
As Head of Lower School, it was wonderful to see the energy and enthusiasm from all our girls during the recent team-building day. After the Lower Fourth’s unexpected return from Sauveterre due to their cancelled flight, we were thrilled to be able to include them in what turned out to be a truly dynamic and memorable day of cross-House activities.
The focus of the day was on communication, teamwork, and, of course, having fun! Each activity was designed to break the ice and encourage collaboration, allowing the girls to strengthen their connections while enjoying some healthy competition.
Despite the torrential rain, the spirit of the girls remained unwavering. I had the pleasure of joining them during the shelter-building task, where their ingenuity and resilience were on full display. Watching them problem-solve under difficult weather conditions was incredibly rewarding, and it became clear that the downpour was no match for their determination.
Following that, I couldn’t resist jumping into the action myself, taking part in the Nerf wars and team tasks that had everyone laughing and working together. The highlight for many, myself included, was the very damp but exhilarating round of laser tag. The girls’ camaraderie and ability to adapt to the wet conditions were truly inspiring.
It was a fantastic day filled with smiles, teamwork, and memories we’ll all cherish. I’m so proud of the girls for embracing the challenge and making the most of every moment, despite the rain. Here’s to more days like this, where teamwork and friendship shine through!
I found the team building great fun, my team and i got soaked during the laser tag activity in the rain, but none of us minded! We did the laser tag in the woods which was super fun! I liked playing ‘Protect the president’ with the nerf guns the best as it was fun hiding my friend and pretending to be the ‘president’ to trick the opposition. We also made tents in the rain, which I loved. The day was challenging yet exciting.

“It was fun and we were able to connect with the new girls in Lower Fourth. It was made even better by the girls who were supposed to be in Sauveterre joining us”
– Torfah (Lower Fourth/Year 8)
“The team building was so, so fun with lots of different activities taking place. There were lots of crazy games and mind boggling tasks, but it was great fun doing it with my friends. I really liked the game where we had to hold a string attached to a wooden block with a hanger attached to that. We then had to try to hook on wooden blocks with the hanger and stack them into the tallest tower.”
