Downe House teacher wins Berkshire Tennis Coach of the Year

Damian Lane, one of our very own tennis coaches, has won this prestigious LTA award.

17 December 2019

Damian Lane, a Downe House tennis coach, has been recognised by the Lawn Tennis Association as Berkshire Tennis Coach of the Year.

Alongside teaching tennis at Downe House, Damian coaches at a number of local clubs in the Berkshire area and uses his work as a platform to fundraise for local charities.

I was so pleased to be awarded the Berkshire LTA Coach of the Year and it feels particularly great to be recognised in my 25th year as a licensed coach. Coaching is all about giving people the tools and confidence to play better, so it’s nice to receive something back that tells me I’m doing a good job! It feels wonderful to have my efforts and abilities formally appreciated by both the LTA and by local tennis clubs.

We are delighted about Damian’s success and thank him for all his ongoing hard work in the Sport department at Downe House.
