It was such a pleasure to host Balmoral College from Argentina for Hockey and Volleyball fixtures on Friday 15 September. Enthusiastic fixtures were played, sporting kit swapped and tasty pizzas were enjoyed by all.
Molly (Upper Fifth) played in the hockey match and reflected on her experience of the evening:
“On Friday 15 September, the first team for hockey had the privilege to play against a touring team from the Argentinian school, Balmoral College. Our team and their team split in half so we were all playing together, and it was a really fun atmosphere with lots of laughter.
It was a fairly even match with the final score of 3-2; unfortunately the team I was on didn’t win, but I did manage to score one of the goals, which I was proud of considering I had to get past our DH goalie, Juliette, who is amazing!”
“It was fun getting to know the girls and see how they play, as well as getting to know about their school life in Argentina. It was interesting to hear about how much they had enjoyed their tour of the UK so far, and it gave me an opportunity to brush-up on some of my Spanish vocab.
Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I can’t wait for them to come back next year.” – Molly, Upper Fifth
