The first girls-only school in the world founded by an authentic British girls’ school, Downe House Muscat provides both Omani and international families with a premier, world-class, all-round education tailored just for girls on an impressive purpose-built campus.
It is a tremendously exciting time in Muscat as significant progress has been made and the incredible purpose-built campus is now complete. It is a school of which we are very proud and our key task now is to ensure that we have the staff to help us to deliver the vision of an excellent Downe House education in Oman. Key appointments have been made to the Leadership Team and the teaching body and, most importantly, families are already starting to visit for Open Days and events, and registration is open for the first cohort of pupils, who will start their Downe House journey in August 2022.
Downe House Muscat offers the Cambridge International Curriculum (CIC) which prepares girls for IGCSE and A Levels, blended with the Oman Ministry of Education’s curriculum for the teaching of Arabic, Islamic Studies and Social Studies. All teaching staff will have UK-recognised teaching qualifications and will teach their specialist subject in an extended day. This gives more time for girls to get involved in a wide range of co-curricular activities to discover their individual interests and talents beyond the classroom, helping to build character, teamworking skills and self-confidence and so much more.
The Muscat campus consists of four interconnected buildings providing state-of-the-art teaching facilities, a Performing Arts Centre with a stunning theatre as its centrepiece, a STEM Centre, an Art and Design Centre and a Sports Academy.Find out more in the Governors’ announcement unveilling the exciting plans for our sister School in Muscat.
Excellence in teaching and learning, tailored to the way we know that girls learn best, is the foundation of a Downe House education.
