Downe House is extremely proud to be the first school to be supported by the Women’s Sports Alliance (WSA), a global membership club designed to support athletes, coaches and contributors in women’s sport. The selection reflects the high calibre of the sports provision at Downe House and is testament to the depth and breadth of the Sport Department’s outstanding work in providing opportunities for girls to take their chosen sport to the next level. The partnership will entitle 30 of the most talented athletes in the School to WSA membership which will give them access to a range of tools and resources to drive performance levels, skills and contribution.

WSA Founder, Jordan Guard said,

Downe House’s commitment to allowing their girls to thrive in sport is second to none. Whilst encouraging a sharp focus on the future, the PE Department introduces their pupils to a wide range of physical activities. They aim to allow pupils to find their sport, enjoy their sport and excel in their sport. We’ve built a brilliant relationship with the school and the staff already and we are looking forward to welcoming 30 of their most talented female athletes to our Membership programme. There is some serious talent in there! To the selected girls, congratulations! And a huge welcome to the WSA community.

The WSA’s purpose is to champion the success of elite athletes, coaches and contributors, drive performance levels and inspire the next generation of talent to compete and become gamechangers within the women’s sport’s industry.
