Physical Education

Sport is known to develop confidence and resilience through physical, technical and mental challenges. Girls’ exposure to teamwork and leadership opportunities in a sporting environment can form the basis of their growth as an individual as well as their academic and personal success.

Head of Department: Mrs Katherine Lauder

The PE Department introduces girls to a wide range of physical activities which allows girls to find their sport, encourages a healthy lifestyle and a lifelong involvement in physical activity.

Girls follow rotations of activities in the Lower School and then are able to choose their options as they move up the School. Learn more about the range of sports and activities on offer from our Sports Directory.

For more information on the PE curriculum please contact Mrs Lizzie Broyd (Assistant Director of Sport, Curriculum). Further information about Sport at Downe House may be obtained by contacting Mrs Katherine Lauder (Director of Sport)
