The new Science Block was opened in October 1967 by Nobel Chemistry Prize Winner, Professor Dorothy Hodgkin, with Dame Rosemary Murray, Old Senior and Chairman of the Governors in attendance. The Science Block provided four spacious laboratories, a preparation room and a dark room and showed an increased support for science to ensure that state-of-the-art facilities were provided to inspire the girls.
The best way to find out more about Downe House is to experience it for yourself. Book a personal tour or join us at one of our Open Mornings, available throughout the year.
