A Downe House girl is an inspiring girl, and we are delighted to introduce you to some of our Leavers who have been key to our school community as leaders, mentors, performers, creatives, and innovators, and are now set to go out and make an impact on the world.

Clara’s confidence, consideration for others, and willingness to take on any challenge, make her a natural leader. Her commitment and energy in the Senior roles to which she was appointed have meant she’s made a real difference during her time at Downe.

Q&A 

What were you most involved in at school?
Lacrosse has been a huge part of my Downe House life. Being part of the 1st team was about so much more than matches — it was the team bonding, the support, and those pasta dinners before tournaments! 

What achievement are you most proud of?
The friendships I’ve made. They’re the thing I’ll carry with me forever. 

Who inspired you the most?
My teachers — they’ve always encouraged me to aim higher and believe in myself. 

Favourite memory?
Our final Happy Day — especially the flash mob and seeing everyone dressed as music icons from the 2000s. 

Best thing about Downe?
House Drama. Everyone gets involved, no matter their skill level, and it’s full of laughter, energy and the best house spirit. 

What has Downe House given you?
It’s been home for seven years, shaping me far beyond academics. I’m leaving with lifelong friends, confidence, and incredible opportunities to grow. 

Advice to a girl starting in September?
Enjoy it — time flies. Whether you’re here for seven years or two, make the most of every moment. 

Favourite DH meal?
Apple crumble and custard. 

If you could have a superpower?
To click my fingers and be anywhere — beach, mountains, you name it. 

Future plans?
Still figuring it out — but I’m excited for whatever’s next!
