Downe House is a very special place to be a part of – the warmth of the community, supportive leadership, and collaborative spirit create a positive and rewarding work environment. We are excited to launch ‘Inspiring people’ – a new monthly series celebrating the stories and experiences of our teachers, pastoral team and operational staff across the school.

To start the school year, we are delighted to introduce three new members of staff. Their energy and fresh ideas promise to make a meaningful impact both within their departments and across the wider school community.  Welcome to the team!

Downe House already has a fantastic English Department who guide our girls in discovering and achieving all these things through words, and I am so looking forward to being a part of this journey. 

 I truly believe that every young person deserves the space to be brilliant at the things they do best, and I was drawn here because Downe House encourages girls to be the very best version of themselves. That is such a special ethos to be part of – and the food is also fantastic!”

“I am really enjoying the strong sense of community and the beautiful setting here at Downe House. The variety of work keeps me busy and engaged, and I have found the team to be both welcoming and supportive. I was drawn to Downe House because I wanted to be part of a culture where staff are valued, motivated, and empowered, and I can already see how special that culture is here. Outside of work, I enjoy golfing, fishing, and going on adventures in nature with my family. Every day feels different, and I love that I am constantly learning and feeling engaged. It is truly motivating to work in an environment that empowers young women to succeed, while also being surrounded by the beautiful setting of Downe House. I chose to join because I wanted to combine my passion for HR and education in a place with a strong reputation for nurturing confident, caring individuals. Beyond work, I enjoy gardening, reading, travelling, and spending time with my two dogs, Herbert and Rupert.
