Q&A
What were you most involved in at school?
Dance, music and art — I’ve loved being part of it all. Dance Company shows like Cinderella, Romeo and Juliet and Avatar were some of my favourites. As Deputy Head of Creative Arts, I gave assemblies, helped run events, and supported other students’ creative work — which was so rewarding.
What achievement are you most proud of?
Becoming a finalist in the John Locke Essay Competition — especially after surviving the summer mocks.
Who inspired you the most?
Definitely my friends and some of my teachers — their work ethic and support pushed me to grow, especially in confidence. Mrs dC was also a big academic influence.
Favourite memory?
In one Creative Arts assembly, we had a total script mishap — wrong paper size, no one knew who had the right one… it was chaos, but hilarious. We got through it with lots of whispering, help from the front row of teachers, and a very large A3 scroll.
Best thing about Downe?
Free coffee from the Murray Centre.
What has Downe House given you?
A belief in trusting the process. During Sixth Form, things didn’t always go as planned — but I learned that if you keep going, things work out.
Advice to a girl starting in September?
Be friendly, get involved, and don’t be afraid to try something new. Some of my best memories came from joining activities with friends, like Dance Company — it’s also the best way to meet people beyond your year or House.
Favourite DH meal?
Cuban sandwich (we only had it once) — or chicken katsu/nuggets for dinner.
If you could have a superpower?
Teleportation — instant lie-ins and global travel.
Future plans?
Still figuring it out, but something psychology-related, possibly clinical psychology.
