Challenge Cup Lacrosse

A big thank you to our First Team Captain, Tilly, for sharing this match report from Sunday’s Challenge Cup.

The Challenge Cup is one of the most competitive tournaments of the lacrosse season, bringing together the top eight schools in the country based on last year’s National Schools results. With multiple 30-minute matches and the highest standard of school lacrosse on display, it’s always an intense and exciting event. This year’s tournament, held last Sunday, was no exception.

A huge highlight for us was the number and quality of saves Teri made in goal — she was absolutely outstanding. Our defence was impenetrable at times, holding strong under pressure, and the midfield worked tirelessly in every single game. In attack, we put away several high-quality goals and created some brilliant opportunities.

I’m incredibly proud of how the team performed as a whole. We took what we’ve been working on in training and implemented it into our matches, which was amazing to see. We stayed connected, supported one another, and fought hard in every game, resulting in some very close and competitive scorelines.

We’re now turning our focus to the South Schools tournament this Thursday. We’ll be facing some familiar opponents as well as some exciting new competition, and it will be a fantastic chance to build on everything we learned from the Challenge Cup.
