The Upper School had a fantastic start to the year with a fun-filled It’s a Knockout! day – complete with foam, laughter, and plenty of friendly competition. Girls competed in their Houses, with older year groups stepping up as team leaders to guide their teams through a range of challenges. It was great to see different year groups mixing, bonding, and cheering each other on.
The activities, brilliantly organised by the CCA team, included running in oversized clothes, sponge-throwing across a giant inflatable castle, and lots of moments that left everyone soaked and laughing. After a few hours of fun, AGS took the crown and secured the first title of the year.
Lottie B (Lower Fifth/Year 10) summed it up perfectly:
We partook in many activities ranging from dressing as a schoolgirl in extremely oversized clothing to throwing sponges over a huge inflatable castle which got everyone soaking! After a few hours of exhilarating fun, AGS managed to secure the crown and win the first title!
Mrs Nicola Neill (Deputy Head of CCA) added:
The ‘It’s a Knockout!’ team-building event wasn’t just any day back at school — it was a day filled with laughter, silliness, and bonding across all year groups. From the very start, the energy was electric, and the girls threw themselves into the quirky, crazy challenges with carefree enthusiasm. The fun wasn’t just in the games — it was in the moments of pure joy when everyone let go and simply enjoyed being together. Cross-year interaction was at the heart of the event, and one of the highlights was seeing our older girls step up as natural leaders, proving that teamwork knows no age limits. Here’s to more days like this — where fun meets friendship and every challenge brings us closer together!
A sunny lunchtime BBQ and a relaxed Sunday evening rounded off a brilliant first House Weekend. Huge thanks to the CCA team for making it such a memorable day for everyone.
