As the school year began, the Upper school reunited to start the term off with a fresh dose of camaraderie and some friendly competition for It’s a knockout!’ The girls took to the field looking to secure victory for their houses, working as a team to run the gauntlet of inflatable activities and quirky challenges in an afternoon filled with laughter. By the end of the day the girls returned not only with smiles on their faces but with closer friends for the year ahead.

“The challenges included things like a slippery foam slide and inflatable boats, throughout all of them we had to work as a team even if that only included cheering while someone else was completing the challenge. I loved the catching sponges activity, where you catapulted sponges over a wall and team members had to catch them on the other side. Although we didn’t exactly excel in this, I did have a lot of fun desperately trying to catch sponges flying through the air.

While all the challenges were fun, the highlight was definitely working as a team and getting to know people across the house a little better.  After the challenges, we celebrated the much-deserved Aisholt win and went to dinner, which was a barbecue and served as a delicious end to the day.”

In my opinion, my favourite activity was collecting fish. In your team, you had to try and climb up a wet and slippery slide to collect the fish at the bottom on the other side. I found it so fun and hilarious because there were soap and bubbles flying everywhere and everyone was just having an amazing time. Additionally, working as a team came naturally to everyone, even being a new girl and not knowing many people, everyone was so uplifting and nurturing and never once made you feel like you weren’t part of the team. I felt like it was the best way to start the year and get to know everyone in your house while creating some great memories. I can’t wait for more things like this to come.
