The Downe House Alumnae Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of our alumnae community and recognise the variety of ways they are making a real impact across our society, both in the UK and around the globe.
We hope to hear stories of how individuals carry Downe’s vision and ethos into the world. Community spirit is an important part of the school’s ethos, and these awards are designed to reflect our diverse community.
Nominations are not based on specific categories, but on the contribution that the nominee has made in their chosen field. These may include, but are not exclusive to:
Alumnae can be nominated for an award by a fellow DH alumna, a family member or themselves. Individuals may make multiple nominations for different people if they wish. Entries are now open and will close on Thursday 4 May 2023.
All nominees must be an alumna of Downe House. Please note that alumnae can only win one Alumnae Award. The Foundation Office reserves the right to make a final decision on any individual’s eligibility for the awards. A nomination will only be considered in conjunction with a completed application form. All applicants must accept the entry rules and privacy notice by clicking the box in the application form.
There will be five alumnae awards given and nominations will be shortlisted and decided by the judging panel chaired by the Headmistress.
The winners will be selected by a judging panel of representatives from across the Downe House community and chaired by the Headmistress. Award winners will be informed in May and announced across the Downe House social media channels. Award winners will be invited to collect their award at a ceremony at the House of Lord’s in June 2023.
We are delighted to announce the launch of the first Downe House Alumnae Achievement Awards!
