Over four Thursday afternoons, Lower School girls had the opportunity to slow down, get creative, and try their hand at a variety of paper crafts — from delicate origami to charming book-themed projects.
Hosted by Miss Vandenham, the workshop alternated weekly between Remove and Lower Fourth students. The first project with Remove involved crafting butterfly rings from origami paper and repurposed book pages. Lower Fourth followed with Valentine’s-themed heart rings — a fiddly but rewarding activity that left many students with a whole collection of handmade paper jewellery to take home.
Next up was a favourite across both year groups: miniature books. Using old or damaged library book pages for the interiors and Pinterest-sourced miniature covers, the girls created tiny tomes perfect for a pocket-sized library. Some students even spoke of creating a full collection — with ambitions to rival the 13,000 books in the Murray Centre!
Miss Vandenham reflected on the term’s sessions with enthusiasm:
It was such a lovely way to spend time with the girls — working quietly together, chatting, laughing, and watching their creativity flourish. I look forward to running more workshops next term. Stay tuned for more exciting crafts!
