As Veyrines celebrates its first twenty years in the beautiful valley of the Dordogne, it was a pleasure to welcome the Headmistress, Mrs Emma McKendrick, last weekend, to spend time with us and get a flavour of life here. Enjoy her comments below.

‘To watch the girls so thoroughly engaged in their lessons, enthusiastic about their learning and the activities they have undertaken and are planning, was a great privilege. Veyrines remains a very special place where children have the opportunity to grow and develop in every way – free from the confines of the set curriculum but bound by a commitment to ensure they make the most of each of the many and varied opportunities that present themselves, whether that is a trip to Vulcania, a lesson on French furniture styles or French grammar! I was only sorry that my visit was all too brief!’
