On Wednesday, 3 October, the Lower Fifth and Upper Fourth were fortunate enough to get to listen to the inspirational Paralympic swimmer, Fran Williamson.
Fran was unfortunately diagnosed with cerebral palsy from birth, restricting her from many everyday activities that we take for granted. But Fran has competed at two Paralympic games, winning four silvers and two bronzes and she is five times World Champion.
“Listening to Fran was a life changing experience” recounts Jessica Ledger. “Her witty, hilariously funny character shone through and, being very fond of sports and swimming myself, I will never be able to complain about being tired and getting up early in the morning to go training again.”
Jessica added “After our talk we all rushed onto Twitter to “tweet” just how life changing that lecture was and, to many of our delights, she re-tweeted us back, thanking us for listening to her.”
