On Tuesday, 6 November, the Lower Fours ventured to the Living Rainforest in Hampstead Norreys.
The girls were treated to a tour around the tropical glasshouses, which contain over 700 species of plants and animals. They also learned how plants, such as aroids, banana trees, and epiphytes, evolve and adapt to their environment.
By far the most exciting part of the trip, however, was the chance to learn about the exotic animals in the rainforest, such as the fast moving Goeldi’s monkeys, the huge Pacu fish which swam with box turtles, and the hard to see chameleon whose eyes could look in different directions. There was even a crocodile!
A fun and informative trip for all!
