On Wednesday, 20 March, our Young Enterprise teams (Spectrum, Carousel and Commando) participated in the West Berkshire Area Final.

All three teams produced super display stands and delivered excellent presentations to support the business plans and company reports that had been submitted in advance to the judges. The competition was particularly strong this year but Commando triumphed as the Overall Winners as well as winning the trophies for the Best Trade Stand at the Kennet Centre Trade Fair and the Innovation Award for their outstanding use of technology, social networking and their website to establish their brand and sell their beanie hats. Commando are believed to be the first team in Berkshire to utilise the online payment system which has been available to Young Enterprise companies for the first time this year. Their e-commerce website has enabled them to accept payments from around the world, orders have been received from the USA and EU as well as the UK. Carousel’s innovative use of QR codes on their language card game which link to their website to hear the word pronounced was also praised by the judges. Well done to all the girls who participated this year.
