On Wednesday, 13 November, a group of girls from the Remove to Lower Sixth joined all the teachers in the Music Department for a Music Matters trip to the Music For Youth Schools’ Prom at the Royal Albert Hall.
The girls thoroughly enjoyed their first experience of “promming” in the central arena of this fabulous concert hall where they had the freedom to meander about between items and stand in the best viewing positions in the house!
They heard a wide range of music styles ranging from Beat-boxing to Fusion, and Classical to Jazz. The Removes and LIV particularly appreciated hearing the performance given by a jazz ensemble by boys and girls in Years 7 and 8 from Farleigh School.
The standard achieved throughout the evening was remarkably high and the girls returned to school having been inspired by what they experienced.
