Beth Yorath came in to talk to our Lower School about Little John’s House…..a small charity working in Romania. Little John’s House was set up in memory of a boy called John who was rescued by them but sadly died soon afterwards.
The volunteers dedicate their work to help a few children living in Little John’s House who are orphans, and possibly disabled, to live a normal life. This is the charity that the Lower School have chosen to raise money for this year.
It was an incredibly interesting and eye-opening talk. One of our Remove girls, Ellie said afterwards, “I did not realise how fortunate we are!” and another girl, Katherine, remarked how “It nearly brought tears to my eyes when I saw how they use to live, but I was relieved to see how happy they looked after they had been in Little John’s House.”
