Miranda Hart (DH 1991) scooped Best Actress at last night’s 2012 TV Choice Awards.

Having scooped a string of awards for her comedy series ‘Miranda’, Miss Hart recently proved she wasn’t all about comedy by taking on the role of Chummy Browne (Camilla Fortescue-Cholmondeley-Browne) in Call the Midwife.

In a message read out on her behalf, she said: "This is the first prize I have won for my acting... I now feel I am a proper actress so I will drink gin in a kaftan and sit moaning about everything."
