On Saturday, 19 March, the Downe House U12A Team travelled to St. Swithun’s in the pouring rain to take part in the South West Lacrosse Tournament.

The girls played four teams in the morning to qualify to the Premiership Division in the afternoon. They played four more games in the afternoon, all of which were very close apart from the game that was lost to QAS 1-4.

However, the defeat motivated the girls to work harder and fight for the ball. They had to beat St.Mary’s, Calne, to win the Tournament and this they did, 2-1.

Special mention goes to Zara Karoly, Alexa Wiggin and Catharina Benigni but all the girls are to be commended on their gritty determination and overall performance. It was a fantastic result, and well done to all.

NB Downe House have never lost this tournament since it started in 2005!
