We are delighted to announce that Emma Powell (DH 2010) has been selected to join the illustrious Cambridge Footlights company for their summer tour to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the east coast of America.
This year’s crop of outstanding young comics has produced an hour’s worth of brand new sketches, surrealism and satire - their shows are renowned for producing stars of the future. With 129 years of experience, the Footlights have launched the careers of a long list of internationally-renowned comedic talents, producing household names like John Cleese (‘Monty Python’), Hugh Laurie (‘House’) and Emma Thompson (‘Love Actually) while continuing to nurture exciting new performers like Mitchell and Webb, Tim Key and Jonny Sweet (‘Inbetweeners’).
This is an outstanding achievement for a first year Cambridge student and she was the only successful female to make it through the gruelling casting process. Congratulations Emma!
