On 2nd December, eight 8 Upper Sixth students visited the Acts of Hope School in Bangalore to help teach and be resident in the school for around two weeks. Acts of Hope School is a charity and offers free first class education in a caring and supportive environment for the children of Bangalore.
One of the girls commented: “We were welcomed, completely and utterly, from the moment we stepped down from the bus, and quickly felt at home in the ‘flat’ which alternates as accommodation for visitors and further classrooms for the older students.
The girls all proved themselves able and creative teachers, juggling Computer Science (with a grand total of three computers for the use of the entire school), Crafts, History, and English with endless dance rehearsals for the Christmas Show and visits to students’ houses. After two weeks of constant teaching, games and a soundtrack of Christmas tunes, they transferred to Delhi, where the sights and sounds of the capital were explored.
