Current girls and alumnae are making the most of DH LINKS to gain invaluable work experience and gather advice as they prepare for life beyond Downe.
The DH LINKS joint venture between the Downe House Foundation and the Careers Department is a networking initiative connecting current girls, alumnae and parents to create and support career and employment opportunities. Over the past six months over 120 current and former Downe House girls have been matched through DH LINKS with parents and alumnae who have offered guidance, support and job opportunities in the UK and abroad. We have more than 80 parents currently registered who are willing to offer support and guidance including work shadowing and internships for current girls and alumnae. Some recent success stories include an international internship based in Hong Kong offered by an alumna who left Downe in 2000 to a younger alum from 2008, we are currently advertising for social media and research internships for a travel company, have secured Art History and media internships, research opportunities as well as work experience and advice in a broad range of fields – from Physiotherapy to Property Management.
