In our latest Medley Lecture, on Wednesday 21st November, Dr Denis Alexander from the Faraday Institute for Science and Religion, Cambridge University, argued before a large and engaged audience that beliefs in creation and evolution are not incompatible.

The discussion that followed and large number of people who purchased copies of Dr Alexander’s books during the book signing afterwards were evidence of great interest in the topic.

In the usual pre-lecture workshop, Dr Alexander encouraged a small group of pupils from The Downs School, Kennet School and Downe House to think critically around the theme of ‘whether science has buried religion’.
