LEPRA street dance session

A representative from LEPRA Health in Action gave a talk to members of the UIV in September about the work of LEPRA and how the charity looks after and treats children and adults with leprosy.

As a British based medical charity, the role of LEPRA is to seek out people with leprosy and to give them the cure and care they desperately need to enable children and adults with leprosy to be accepted back into their families and their place within the community.

Deena from the UIV writes: “After some dedicated fundraising for the LEPRA Charity (we raised £804.55), we were gratefully given in return an enjoyable opportunity to do a Street Dance Zumba workout. So, on Thursday, 8 November, Dawn Williamson, a representative from LEPRA and Kristen, a super energetic Dance Teacher, arrived at the Farr Centre and motivated our year group to a Street Dance session. It was very rewarding for our involvement in raising money to treat Leprosy and certainly refreshed us for the day ahead."
