Stonar is always a really popular event, with many schools competing as it is usually one of the first events in the new school year.

The Downe House blue team consisted of C Ledger, I Kingham, M Smeeton, E Hill and M Bird. After completing the rather tense part of the three disciplines (the Dressage), it was time for the fun part, the Show Jumping, followed by the really fun Cross Country (which is always the most popular section).

The girls were happy to do a reasonable test and clear Show Jumping which put them in a great position for the Cross Country. They had to pull out all the stops for a tight Cross Country time - they were just inside the rather quick-paced time.

The girls were thrilled to come 3rd in the team competition, with some good individual placings, including a 1st , 7th and 9th. Overall it was a long, but thoroughly enjoyable, day out and one which the team will remember in times to come.
