40+ girls came to our Prep School Drama Day on 3rd May 2012. They were greeted with warm smiles from Remove girls, staff and the Drama Seniors and were soon having fun participating in warm up games, led by Drama Seniors, Alex Constantinidi, Flo Rayner and Alice Palmer.
Name games, ’zip-zap boing’, and grandfathers footsteps were all highlights of the first session. The girls then participated in a workshop based on the beginning of Macbeth. The two groups then took part in a workshop on ‘Improvisation and Theatrical Devices’. For the final workshop of the day the girls all learnt a Musical Theatre song and dance. The girls threw themselves into the high energy lesson with great enthusiasm and achieved a very high standard of performance in a very short time.
One Remove, Isabelle Brown, stated, ‘I think the year five girls really enjoyed the Drama Day. They were very enthusiastic and they were not shy to use all their acting skills. They enjoyed creating their own scenes and then performing them.’
