On 6th March Mrs Clare Blampied (mother of Hettie) gave a fascinating talk on her career path and experience as MD of Sacla.
Sacla is the premium Italian food brand in the UK with a 50% market share of that sector; it is marketed as the “Food of Italians”, with all products being made in Italy to ensure authenticity and then shipped to the UK.
We have Mrs Blampied to thank for launching the UK operation of Sacla and making pesto a staple item in many UK homes!
Sixth Form Business Studies girls and those planning to take the subject next year benefited from an overview of Sacla’s organisational culture as well as useful information on their approach to marketing and operations and the impact of the external influences, such as exchange rates and the recession. A goody bag of pesto, pasta and a tea towel of recipes for each girl rounded off a fantastic evening.
