Girl's Eye View: Sixth Form

As you grow older, Downe offers you more and more freedom but, of course, with this comes responsibility. There are many aspects of school life which demand leadership, from captaining a sports team to running a house activity, but all needing calm, positive and confident guidance. Being Head Senior is often a demanding and time-consuming role, but with a fantastic group of seniors and school officers the job becomes much easier and truly enjoyable. Marina Sykes - Head Senior 2009-2010

Drama in the Sixth Form is a real adventure. There always seems to be something dramatic going on, and everything is done with such support, passion and enthusiasm. I have so loved being able to explore new things and grow in confidence through the wealth of drama that is on offer.  Emma Powell - Head of Drama 2009-2010

Music at Downe has always allowed me to pursue whatever challenges I choose, from simply playing in an orchestra to singing a solo in Westminster Cathedral.  It has given me the opportunity to travel to both Italy and St Petersburg with the choir, an experience that I will never forget.   With such a variety of musical opportunities, there is always the chance to develop your passion and try something new.  Caroline Williams - Head of Tedworth House 2009-2010

The Careers Department offer constant encouragement and support in our decisions and plans for life after Downe, whether advice regarding university applications or opening our eyes to the many alternatives.  Hattie Beazley - Senior 2009-2010
